Corrections Policy
We try hard to keep MyITINCredit.com accurate, but a site covering credit scores, ITIN rules, and a partner's pricing will occasionally contain an error or a stale fact. This page explains exactly how to tell us, and what you can expect once you do.
How to report an error
Email support@myitincredit.com with the subject line "Correction request." Please include:
- The URL of the page.
- The specific sentence or claim you believe is wrong or outdated.
- If possible, a link to the source that shows the correct information (e.g., the IRS, CFPB, FTC, a bureau's website, or our partner's current terms).
You do not need an account, and you do not need to be a customer of MyFreeScoreNow or any partner we mention to submit a correction request.
What counts as a correction
We treat the following as correction-worthy and prioritize them accordingly:
- Factual errors — a wrong number, date, eligibility rule, or description of how a product or government process works.
- Pricing or terms drift — for example, if MyFreeScoreNow's trial price, monthly price, or billing cadence changes and a page still shows the old terms.
- Broken or redirected citations — a government or bureau source link that no longer resolves to the page we cited.
- Outdated guidance — content that was accurate when published but has been superseded by a new IRS, CFPB, or FTC rule or bureau scoring change.
Requests that are actually a difference of opinion, a request to remove a truthful but unflattering statement about a product, or a request to add promotional language are not corrections, and we may decline them — but we will still reply and explain why.
Our review process for a reported error
- We acknowledge correction requests, typically within a few business days.
- We re-check the disputed claim against the primary source (IRS, CFPB, FTC, bureau, or partner documentation) — the same standard described in our editorial policy.
- If the claim is wrong or stale, we correct the page text and update the visible "Last updated" date and the page's modified-date metadata so the correction is transparent, not hidden.
- For a material factual error (one that could mislead a reader about eligibility, cost, or their rights), we note the substance of the change was made after a correction request, without necessarily disclosing the requester's identity.
- If we conclude the original content was accurate, we reply explaining our reasoning and sourcing.
Severity and response time
We prioritize corrections that could affect a reader's money or legal standing — incorrect pricing, incorrect eligibility rules, or incorrect statements about cancellation or billing — above stylistic or minor issues. Pricing and billing pages are checked at least monthly regardless of whether an error is reported; see the review process page for our standing schedule.
What we won't do
We won't quietly rewrite a page's substance without updating its visible date, and we won't remove a correction simply because a partner would prefer different language, as long as the corrected version is verifiably accurate. Our commercial relationship with MyFreeScoreNow and other partners, described on our How We Make Money page, does not give any partner editorial control over our content.
